MEGABI

MEGABI: Someone who gives life to others…

So, what is MEGABISKATE?

Love in Action

“I want the kids in my neighborhood to know they are important, their dreams are important and that by taking care of themselves and their families, friends and neighbors, they can bring about real change.” – Israel Dejene

Encouragement

In 2015, a group of pro skaters and skatepark builders made the trip to MEGABISKATE to meet the kids and build a ramp. What they found was not what they expected…

“I think the trip was transformative… it was inspirational to see the work of Izzy and participate with the kids. I’ll never forget it.” – Tony Hawk
“I have never felt so many good vibes in one place before… through skateboarding we were able to make this trip happen and give back to kids in so many ways.” – Nyjah Huston
“This was way more than a skate trip for me. This was a life changing experience.” – Aaron “Jaws” Homoki

MEGABISKATE GIRLS!

Encouraging young girls to rely on “faith over fear to push through barriers and move forward to love”, Muluken Dejene has taken on the critically important role of fostering and mentoring young women. As the founder of MEGABISKATE GIRLS, she has established the first African girls skateboarding team! Empowering and inspiring young women through skateboarding and the arts.

We’d love your support to keep MEGABISKATE rolling and expand in Ethiopia and elsewhere. DONATE now!

Current goals are to cleanup and expand the original skating area, add additional features, and a roof for protection from too much sun or rain. Improve the Dream Big Stage. Create a music studio for lessons and recording. Improve the study area to include computer access and expand the availability of tutors. Your one-time or recurring donation will make that happen.

Also, take a few seconds with our CONTACT page and let us know you’re with us!

Know that MEGABISKATE INC is a 501(c)(3) corporation, staffed by volunteers. ALL proceeds go to support the MEGABISKATE youth and programs.
